Stainless Steel Projects

Stainless Steel is a fantastic material for many applications. Besides being resistant to rust & even mild corrosives, it also looks fantastic when used the right way

Stainless Steel Fabrication requires a lot more planing and foresight than with mild steel, especially if the intention is to brush or polish the final product. Where mild steel is very forgiving for patching things up, in stainless any mistakes or afterthoughts will be very visible. It's important to have a clear idea of the look & function of the desired end product before launching into it, even then some Know How & Experience of what works and what won't can save a lot of time, money & frustration.

There are several different grades of stainless steel, two of the most common are 304 & 316. Whilst they're both rust resistant 304 can still rust over time, especially in marine environments. 316 is almost totally rust proof, hence it's the more expensive grade and has widespread use in marine, food & medical applications. There are lots of other more exotic grades and alloys for specialised tasks.

Whilst stainless steel has a higher price tag (depending on grade at least 50% higher than mild steel), for a lot of applications, especially Marine and Outdoor, it's actually a lot cheaper in the long run, sometimes it's simply the only way to go.

We have produced many Stainless Steel projects, everything from simple everyday items to Marine & Outdoor elements and complex Exhibition & Staging Elements.
