Mechanism designed to take any bike and animate it to lean up to 35 degrees at variable speeds This video explains it better than any words could. Some more info below Originally designed & engineered for Harley Davidson Australia to use at the bigger bike shows around the country, but would look equally good in any bike showroom. The clamps fitted to the mechanism in the video are adjustable to hold any Harley. We designed these to also securely hold the bikes upright for static display. They're actually strong enough even for 2 big persons to jump on & off the bikes.. More pictures of those in our Vehicle Modifications Album Designed & fabricated clamps for other bikes as well, which when fitted to this leaner mechanism allows any other bike to be animated in this way Watching the video the engineering seems quite simple. Right... that's what we thought when we started this project...Turned out the calculations of the physics were far more critical than you'd expect. Required us to strike just the right balance between the stresses on the bike frame and the look we wanted to achieve. Took a big spreadsheet of calculations to determine the right settings for every bike. Learned some excellent lessons (luckily no expensive ones) & had lots of fun making it work. Maximum leaning angle can be anything from 15 - 35 degrees and we built in a speed control so the system allowed for a lot of flexibility. To allow for all the different bikes the weights also have to be adjustable. Turned out a massive crowd-pleaser and great draw-card for Harley Davidson at those bike shows. At one stage the MD of a competing bike brand was caught standing in front of it mesmerised for over 15 min. We're always happy to brainstorm & share our experience.
